A Região Metropolitana de Curitiba (RMC) vai testar, a partir de novembro, um novo modelo de transporte coletivo: o Bonde Urbano Digital (BUD). O sistema, fabricado na China, foi lançado oficialmente nesta quinta-feira (4) pelo governo estadual e será avaliado em um percurso de 10 quilômetros, entre os terminais de Pinhais e São Roque, em Piraquara.
Com tecnologia de ponta, o Paraná se torna o primeiro estado da América do Sul a adotar oficialmente esse tipo de modal, que promete unir inovação, sustentabilidade, conforto e baixo custo. A iniciativa é da Agência de Assuntos Metropolitanos do Paraná (Amep), com investimento inicial de R$ 6 milhões em infraestrutura, sinalização e transporte. O período de testes será de 15 meses.
“Esse é um dia especial para a história do Paraná. Somos o primeiro da América do Sul a tirar do papel um projeto desse porte, com essa tecnologia e vanguarda. O Paraná buscou o que há de mais avançado no mundo em transporte coletivo e vai implementar um sistema para melhorar a vida das pessoas”, afirmou o governador Ratinho Junior.
O veículo é 100% elétrico e não depende de trilhos. Ele se move por indução magnética, guiado por sensores instalados no asfalto. Segundo o governo, a implantação custa até três vezes menos do que um VLT (Veículo Leve sobre Trilhos) e é mais rápida. A passagem terá o mesmo valor do ônibus metropolitano: R$ 5,50.
O prefeito de Piraquara, Marcus Tesserolli (Marquinhos), destacou o impacto social do novo modal.
“Hoje o morador de Piraquara está a aproximadamente 25 quilômetros da capital. Não é fácil ir e vir. É qualidade de vida poder chegar mais cedo em casa. O morador de Piraquara vai economizar, por dia, mais de uma hora”, disse.
O diretor-presidente da Amep, Gilson Santos, explicou que a decisão foi tomada após estudos realizados em 2024, incluindo visita à sede da fabricante chinesa CRRC Corporation e participação no lançamento do sistema em Monterrey, no México.
“Estamos falando de uma tecnologia que tem custo três vezes menor do que a dos VLTs e vida útil de 30 anos. É um marco para a mobilidade urbana e para a sustentabilidade. Estamos confiantes com esse teste e vamos avaliar a aceitação da população”, destacou Santos.
A tecnologia adotada é conhecida como Digital Rail Transit (DRT). Ela transforma o asfalto em um “trilho digital”, criando uma espécie de metrô de superfície sem necessidade de infraestrutura pesada.
